RECLAMATION, NCWCD TO DISCUSS
HORSETOOTH RESERVOIR PLANS
FORT COLLINS -- On two separate dates this month, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District will host a public scoping meeting and open house. The purpose is to provide information and listen to public comments about the proposed Horsetooth Reservoir modernization project and its environmental analysis scope.
The first meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Cache la Poudre Junior High School, 3511 North Highway 287 in
LaPorte.
The second will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the Lincoln Center=s Columbine Room, 417 East Magnolia in Fort Collins.
Scoping meetings are required as part of the environmental review process. The agenda includes the: project background; Safety of Dams Program; risk analysis process; alternatives; project operations and environmental considerations.
The open house allows the public time to examine charts, graphs and pictures of the reservoir and its dams. People may also discuss the proposed project with Reclamation and District staff members.
